Bienestar is the Spanish word for Well-Being. We recognize that any one can learn and practice yoga and meditation. Bienestar Yoga is hatha based vinyasa modified to take consideration of individual wellbeing by incorporating the most current science of our Mind, Body & Spirit with the traditional wisdom of yoga. Yoga can be modified to be beneficial for everyone when the individual is taken into consideration. Yoga is more than Asana (the physical postures), Pranyama (the breath), Dyhana (meditation).
Practice not only creates flexibility and strength in our bodies but in our minds and hearts. Practice creates equanimity, an inner peace and balance in our daily lives. You can be calmer, you can be more responsive and less reactive. This has been the case for over 3000 years and now with advanced technology it is being observed and proven by science. Yoga and it's practices are a part of the chosen methods of Integrative or Complementary medicine to improve a patients quality of life while receiving medical care. This is know as therapeutic or vini (individual) yoga.
At Bienestar we offer generalized daily classes with a bit of added attention to students posture based on their individual bodies, not a dogmatic rule of style. And we offer privates to assist individuals learn more about their own bodies, habits and practices to improve the results of practice. We are combining ancient wisdom with the modern knowledge of the body for a deeper experience and felt alterations in our daily lives.
