Yoga is inherently a wellness practice. In yoga, we find that by practicing the right yoga for each different phase of an individual's life we can maintain a healthy body and mind. These classes in Wellness were designed to create a deeper knowledge of everyday yoga practices you can use to connect with your clients through normally occurring different stages of life that they may be dealing with.
In this course we will discover the seat of Yogic Meditation.
We will look at posture and support, pranayama and techniques for stilling the mind. I come from a background counseling teaching stress and anxiety reducing techniques including teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Vipassana meditation (translation mindful).
We will look at how you can incorporate the skills to prepare for sitting and developing concentration into your daily yoga classes and then offer a special Meditation class.
We will discuss the background of meditation in Hinduism and Buddhism, the universality of meditation, and the modern science of the benefits of a regular meditation practice.
We will look at Meditation in yogic literature including The Yoga Sutras and the Gheranda -Samhita History - Hinduism, Buddhism, and Yogic literature, East - West language and philosophy. Developing self-practice and experiential practice delivering classroom tools, didactic inquiries and practice experience.

To create comfort and steadiness in students to begin practice and to encourage a commitment to on going practice.
Manual Provided and workbook & a take home Practicum... documenting another 30 days of personal practice and use of the provided meditation journal - Optional mentoring if you chose to document teaching a 6 week program weaving meditation into the teaching and practice of yoga. Mentorship included in tuition.

The cost of the program with accommodations, breakfast, lunch & dinner starts at $1059. USD payable in dollars or colones. The class price can be adjusted for students with local other accommodations.
Shared room, 2 single beds - $1059. per person
Monks rooms (single bed) - $1269. per person
Private room (full size bed) - $1449. per person (price can be adjusted for couples)
Class begins at 7:30 daily and ends at aprox. 4:00. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.
Additionally we can provide information on, SJO Accommodations and Airport Transport to and from San Jose International Airport - Airport (SJO) for $75. each way on a shuttle, $95.00 flight to Quepos and bus information $20.00 from downtown San Jose.
We can provide you with a list of hostels, hotels & AirB&Bs near the airport .
Additional nights stay may be available before & after the program, please ask in advance of arrival.
All classroom materials are here in the studio, mats, blocks, bolsters and pillows.
Payment: a 25% deposit is due with registration, with maybe paid via PayPal or Bank Deposit. Balance of payment is due by bank deposit, cash or credit/debit card payment on arrival. Other payment arrangements maybe possible if made in advance.
